The Studio does not currently offer internet connectivity, but as a consumer friendly business we would like to share a few resources that may help you find a stable and reliable internet service provider. Below is a breakdown of studio's suggestions.
Dialing Up - 56k and below.
Finding a good ISP for dial-up connections can be tricky and a real headache. However, we have a few ISP suggestions that may help you obtain a satisfying internet solution.
For Beginners - we suggest the more commonly known ISP's such as MSN and Earthlink. These companies have proven to provide quality internet connections.
For Novice to Expert Users -
the best course of action for your internet connection is a local ISP server (or net servers) and services provided by some of the larger phone companies (Verizon, AT&T, SBC, etc.)
DSL/Cable - The Future of Power Surfing
Broadband services are the great workhorses of the internet and soon to be a standard in every web using home or business. Whether your a gamer, researchers, media nut or hardcore business-net user broadband is the only solution for you. Warning the use of broadband will almost for sure make you want to burn your 56k modem. It's no joke!
For Net-Heads - we suggest DSL/Cable services from local provides backed with big names. Examples of such names are Verizon, AT&T, Cox Communications, Comcast, etc. all of these big name companies spend mucho dollars to keep there networks alive and running.
Also Be Sure That
- these services are available to you before you get your hopes up about hyper-surfing. Most broadband services are limited to certain areas so be sure you visit or call your local broadband provider before you spend the cash to get DSL/Cable hooked up. Most of the big name providers do have online service notification that you can check via. their web site.
Fractions/T1/Wireless - Reservations for Businesses
These are godly internet connections and with that carry a big investment. We highly suggest you research into your area before you attempt to acquire and of these services.
Be Aware - there are some extra charges for line usage based on miles. So shoot for the closest and most reliable ISP.
Be Weary
- watch out for specials and deals on these services. Some of them carry minimum contracts, sharing of services and general disappointment.
Cheap is Cheap
- If a service provider is saying it can get you the best deal be persistent with questions about what you are buying and keep your options open.
Satellite Internet
- can be great in certain situations, but yet again be aware that some of these services maybe sensitive to mileage, require a dial-up or secondary provider or even cost you a fortune in hardware just to run it. Once again stay with the provider that dumps the money into maintaining their networks.
Wireless is great
- saves the headache for miles of wiring, but make sure your set with the latest in wireless securities.
